Marc Popelier studied physics at the Delft University of Technology, and business administration at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. Initially, Marc was a market researcher, followed by various marketing positions with Douwe Egberts, Akzo Coatings and Center Parcs. In the employ of the first two companies he gained worth-wile experience with consumer marketing and branding, and became acquainted with Direct Marketing and CRM. At Center Parcs, Marc was Director of Marketing and responsible for international expansion and the implementation of database marketing, among other responsibilities. The direct turnover of the company increased swiftly under his responsibility. Since 1995, Marc has been an independent consultant on strategy, CRM and database marketing, loyalty, client-satisfaction, service, market and product development issues. He has always focused on short-term improvement of the results. Marc carried out assignments for leisure companies, such as Vrij Uit, Center Parcs, ANWB Dutch Automobile Association, Pharos Reizen, NBTC, Gran Dorado, Zilverberk Parken, theatre companies and various hotels. Vrij Uit almost doubled the turnover of the holiday brochures that were Marc’s responsibility in just two seasons. Moreover, Marc worked for the Dutch National Lottery and other lotteries, for Roche, ING Bank, Rabo Bank, Fortis Bank, KPN, Shell, Tiscali, some e-commerce and mail-order companies, and several training institutes, including VU University and De Baak.
In addition to his marketing activities, Mark coaches both young entrepreneurs and managers.
